Okay, so I think I'm at the point where I can do no more on the website with my current resources. As you know, the current website is visible here. A month or so ago, Denden sent me the content that you guys put together for the website, and I ended up filtering a lot of it out ... Mostly because it didn't fit the tone that I liked.

"So what can *I* do to help?" Is what you're hopefully asking yourself.

I need several pages written for me. A quick list that I can come up off the top of my head is:

I need write-ups on several locations in the game (Black Isle, Hillys, Lighthouse, Nutripils Factory, Slaughterhouse, and Selene . I did receive some from Denden, but they were written in a "walk through" style, which isn't what I want. I would like to have a short page explaining about the place, why Jade is there (without spoiling too much of the game). A good example is the page for the Mammago Garage.

Also, I think in the walkthrough section, it would be nice to link to several sites such as IGN, and perhaps to have our own walk through, which would be really awesome. Having our own is not strictly necessary, but would show that we are dedicated to the game.

For the "History of the Revolution" page, I'll need for someone who's been around for awhile to write something up for me...

I think I can handle everything else content-wise; I might just be a bit slow on writing it. If you see a page that says "Hmmm... This page does not exist" and you want to try writing it (ooohhh, thank you :D), then get in contact with me so that we can hash out what the page should look like.

That's all for the *English* content part. Now, translators, I'm not sure who all wanted to translate, and it's been awhile since everyone was asked, so I suppose that I'll just let those who want to translate post here. Assuming I recall correctly, there were a lot of Dutch translators, so... Erm, yeah :wacko: Dunno what to do there, I might end up giving page assignments if more than one of you want to help.

Now, I have flags on the bottom bar for English, Dutch, German, Hungarian, Polish, and Spanish. It would be really cool if we could add Russian too, but I won't be too disappointed if we don't; we're already gonna cover a lot of languages if this works correctly.

Anyway, the first thing that you can do for me if you're interested in translating is posting the language(s) that you'd like to translate. I'd also like if you'd translate some of the phrases already used on the site.

Black Isle

Once the site of a prosperous mining facility, Black Isle has now become an ominous cave teaming with Hillyian fauna.

Echoes from such creatures fill the entire cavern. Creaking support beams and the drip of water accompany them, as the ocean crashes in the distance. Quarry tools are everywhere, and the blue light from the medusas(aka "Jellies") glow in the dark corridors. Since it is a mine, uses for the various equipment is limited only by your imagination, and who knows what kind of apparatus' you'll find within!

Jade sets off to Black Isle to meet her new mysterious client, who is offering her a much-needed job during the pressures of the DomZ war. Jade soon finds out that she must venture into the bowels of the place as part of the mission.

Legends says that a great treasure lies at the peak of Black Isle, but no one has been able to verify that. There are rumblings in the heart of the den, proving that there are more dangerous things in the deep places of the earth.

Perfect example of what I was looking for :D

There are a few grammar errors, but I'll clean them up... Tomorrow (when I'm awake :P) and website-ize it :)

Ah, translation will be a challenge to do right with all the Dutch people on this forum. But since I want to be a translator in the future, I'll give it a shot. I'll be translator English-Dutch, perhaps with a few other Dutchies like Reaper. About the Revolution history, I'm not very good at that. But since I'm one of the few who was here before the Ressurection, I should give it a shot. But it requires some work and I can't do it before I go on my holiday, so if no one wants to do it, I'll give it a go in August. Tomorrow, I might write a piece on the Lighthouse Island.

Hillys
The setting for the majority of Beyond Good & Evil; Hillys is a beauitful, diverse planet with a lot to offer.

Vast oceans cover the planet. The flora is as majestic as the fauna; diverse in every sense. Dark caves hide their treasures, as the chorus of waves ride to their destiny.

The cities provide a rich setting with a lot to see. Looking for unique items? Shop in several colorful venues. Want fast-paced racing? Try your hand at the eccentric hovercraft tracks. Perhaps you just want to relax over a drink. The neon-lit bars offer the best in spirits.

Jade was brought to Hillys as a child by Pey'j, who hoped to raise her there safely. Little did he know that Hillys would be just what fate asked for.

Ah, now this is something I can do! The website has always been my most neglected project, but I'll try to change that now. About the write-ups on the different locations, I'll ask Alxs if he can send me the content of the Hillian Wiki about those subjects.

I'm not sure whether this is what you want, but this is my attempt at a write-up on the Lighthouse Island:

Lighthouse Island

Welcome to the most peaceful place on Hillys; an island with the greatest view of Hillys, one of its most famous buildings and the home of Pey'j and Jade. These citizens came to Hillys years ago, when it was still a peaceful planet. Pey'j bought the lighthouse with his last remaining credits and took care of Jade here. But as Jade grew up, the war against the DomZ begins and the lighthouse became an easy prey for the many attacks. Jade began a career as freelance reporter with Jade Reporting & Co. with her adoptive uncle Pey'j as her companion to pay the bills and for the purchase of a defense system for the island. As the war continued, Jade Reporting & Co. saw the many horrors of the war have its impact on the citizens of Hillys. Many children became orphaned, and so the kind-hearted Jade took them all under her care in the lighthouse. This is how the lighthouse became a place filled with the cheerful voices of children. Pey'j and Jade enjoy their company and they would do anything for these little orphans.

The lighthouse is a historical building on Hillys, it has stood there longer than anyone would care to remember. When airships were not yet that common on the planet of Hillys as it is nowadays, the lighthouse was built to guide ships to the safe port of the city. Before Pey'j came along with little Jade, the lighthouse had been forgotten by many for years and it was beginning to fall into decay. But Pey'j made it his home and after some hard work it became a cozy place for him and Jade to live in. The lighthouse is the place where Jade has her pictures developed and where they all eat, sleep and live. The rest of the island's surface basically serves as their frontyard, with a long path leading to a great old tree that has stood there long before the lighthouse was built. The view of the city of Hillys from this place is spectaculair. Right across the lighthouse is the entrance to the underground caves, where Pey'j's hovercraft is docked and where Pey'j likes to break...my apologies, I meant: invent stuff.

Nimitz: A Network of Fans and their work. Although it is "Network of Fans," it could be thought of as "community"

I know that I said I'd be getting stuff up tomorrow, but I was lazy, and I'm really tired today. Then, I come home and find that I am flamed all across several different forums. Le sigh. I need a break for now. We'll see about getting it up tomorrow or this weekend.

Anyway, Hoikas, Alxs asked if we needed the images of the Hillian Wiki. I mean they pretty much cover anything item, location and person in BGE.

Selene
The majestic moon of Hillys, Selene gives the aformentioned even more beauty than she already has.

At night, Selene displays her true self, casting a colossal glow upon Hillys, cleansing the skies.

Jade must voyage to Selene for her latest mission, where the DomZ, Alpha's, and much more await her.

I don't really think I'd need it, since I can juat go into game and get images of whatever I need... And there's already a crapload of pics with the content that I have.

I know someone who’s fluent in Russian (Ukrainian anyway, I think it’s the same :mellow: ) and English, I don’t know if he’s into BG&E though I’ll have to ask him if he’ll help.

Ukrainian is a bit different, although close.

I've been meaning to play through this game again, so I can create one from scratch if you want it - the official BGE Revolution walkthrough. Of course, I'd take my sweet time doing it, because even though the game technically only takes eight hours to finish, writing it up would take longer. And then I ten to get distracted and spend hours running Jade in circles, jumping over frogs or whatnot. But I'll still do it. I'm wondering, too, what Hoikas intends to put on the "About BGE" page of the website.

Also, I know that Hoikas here decided to scrap the locale descriptions because they didn't fit what he wanted, but I'm wondering if someone still has the descriptions I wrote, seeing as how I lost my own copies when my last laptop busted. The work I put into them might not be much appreciated here, but I'd still like to have them for my own files.

How different is it?

Is it like me talking to say an Australian who uses a few words I don’t know what they mean or something?

Basically it's just a different Eastern-Slavic dialect, also with a bit different transcription in Cyrilic, i.e. h in Russian is x, and in Ukrainian it's г. However, the differences between those two are like differences between English and Scottish English - when the Scott starts speaking Scottish English, you completely don't understand him. That's like Ukrainian starting speaking Ukrainian.

Or like German and Austrian/Swiss. :D

I have some of them. Which ones did you write?

:lol: You sound like me and Denden, we played co-op Lego Star Wars II yesterday, and spend several minutes just jumping into a ravine with C3PO and R2D2. I can just be so much fun, we were laughing all the way through :P

That's way I love games with a free roaming possibility(Stranger's Wrath, BGE, Gun, etc.), I can just spend hours in those games doing all kinds of weird stuff. I do it in other games as well, but it's easier in a free roaming game. One of my BGE moments was running around in circles after the children were kidnapped, it was kinda fun with the dramatical music really :P

Slaughterhouse
The steam rises above the Slaughterhouse sector, creating an even more shuddering appearance. Being located on the edges of the Hillyian city only boosts this.

The Slaughterhouse holds Races 3 and 4 in the Hovercraft racing tournament, thus being more challenging, dangerous, and exciting. Behind this front though, lies an Alpha Sections set-up. Victims of the Alpha kidnappings are brought here to be fitted for shipment to Selene. The entire structure is heavily guarded; mines, electric gates, sentry guns, not to mention plenty of Alpha guards. There are multiple points of interest, and no shortage of animals creeping throughout the old facility; where the smell of rotting meat to the nostrils is as persistant as guided-torpedoes are to hovercrafts.

Jade is assigned a mission to infiltrate the Slaughterhouse to further show the citizens of Hillys that the Alpha's are allies with the DomZ. She'll put all her stealth skills to the test in this massive place.

The Black Isle and Selene. There might have been one more; I have a horrendous memory. But as I don't remember the last one, I probably won't miss it. So, just those two, if you please.
