Title: BG&E Freeform
Description: Random Neuron Fun!
Ugly Duck - April 11, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
OK, before we start, i'll give you all a brief rundown of the concept of Freeform.
In freeform, you type. Whatever comes into your head. Anything at all. Say, you look under your shoe and see a coin stuck to it, write about that. Or if you see something cool on the internet that sparks a thought, you type that. Whatever random brain neuron fires at the time. Don't try to think too much about what you're typing though. and remember, it isn't spamming, it's just random. :)
Except this is for BG&E related neurons ONLY.
I don't know how well this will work out, but the concept of freeform (invented by my great and wise master, Straith) has been quite popular among the masses so far... it's very useful for brainstroming ideas and suggestions, because in reading one thing, it sparks anouther thought in your mind that then sparks another in someone elses and so on. Let's give it a go.
For instance, something that i'v already posted but that is quite random in itself; have you ever noticed how BGE also stands for 'Best Game Ever'? it's very apt...
Ugly Duck - April 13, 2005 12:34 PM (GMT)
hmm... this kind of thing breathes life into the most dead of forums... two whole days and no-one is interested? shame...
Well, i can still use it. Am i the only one who has actually mp3-ed the the soundtracks? the 3 credits songs and the akuda bar so far. listen to them in psychology, i do.
JerichoMccoy - April 13, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
The story of BG&E can be compared to Star Wars in a way. Young person finds their way in a struggle between the forces of good and the forces of evil. A person older than the young shows them the light...or something like that...
What is Beyond Good and Evil mean any ways? How can something be BEYOND that of good and evil? Your adding a third entity in the mix and probably even a forth. Chaos? Absolution? Or is it that nothing can be either good nor evil, it just is. If someone was taught how to make things for people when they do bad stuff to them, that person later on in life will not consider the bad things people do to them to be evil. Just something for him/her/it to do afterwards.
There ya go. Gave ya some randomness. :D
Ugly Duck - April 14, 2005 09:08 AM (GMT)
well... in a litteral sence, Ancel only called it beyond good and evil because ubi wern't to keen on his suggestion of 'Between Good and Evil', so they changed it to coinside with the vastness and depth of the gameplay; it's up to the player how they want to interperate the title.
it pretty much comes down to the idea that we only belive what is good and evil by what we are brought up with, and in different societies, people have different views on what is right and wrong. this incosistencey brings the question of whether we actually know what is right or wrong and what would you do in a scenario that goes past what you know. for example; the question 'would you kill one innocent child to save thousands of lives?' is a question that goes beyond morals and ethics. it can't be measured by human standards.
i'v got some real random gold coming up soon. just need to organise it.
I_am_a_smurfy.Llama - April 23, 2005 11:00 AM (GMT)
I agree with both of your theories here. But I have my own.
Llamas are evil. They eat smurfs. Smurfs are evil. Evil is the meaning of smurfy llama. I am a smurfy llama. Therefore, I am evil. bwahahaha. :ph43r:
Ugly Duck - April 23, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
at this point, i would like to direct you to the
OT Freeform.
i also get the feeling that i wouldn't want to meet you in a dark ally without at least three dragon ninja and a katana... :ph43r:
FutureFish - April 23, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
Hell yeah. Shes DANGEROUS down a dark alley! Jks, Flowa :D  Llamas spit on you. You do realise that dont you? :o :D
Wasnt BGE like a reflection of the holocaust? Burning people in crates! Evil!
I Fear my Girlfriend... Shes gonna have a BIG advantage over me when it comes to washing up after dinner...
Ugly Duck - April 23, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)
oh... RANDOM!
bge is like watching a good firework display as a kid. brilliant, dynamic, so much you don't understand about it that pertains to it's wonder, simple and an experience you'll remember forever... but too short lived.
edit; a SHARP katana...
FutureFish - April 23, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
Ugly Duck - April 23, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
*salutes himself*
life is like a box of chocolates. you eat all the good ones first, and then get left with the scummy praline and coffee ones at the end. most sense i ever heard.
FutureFish - April 24, 2005 12:32 PM (GMT)
God the great setter of mousetraps... and we walk right into them.
BGE= City of Lost children with more aliens.
Ugly Duck - April 24, 2005 05:38 PM (GMT)

Oh, I know that. A llama spat at me at a park/wildlife reserve about three times. Fun! Good thing I'm skilled at ducking, what with all my ninja training....
A big advantage over you? Why do you say that, fish? ^_^

Quite right. You may wanna take at least three quite large big mean dogs as well. :D :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r:
Ugly Duck - April 25, 2005 10:07 AM (GMT)
i wouldn't do that to dogs... they arn't prepared for death/serious mental injury... *places little finger at corner of mouth* Bring in the tactical nuclear device!
I_am_a_smurfy.Llama - April 25, 2005 10:30 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm so scary that it would be a bit mean. Although I wouldn't do too much - just break a coupla legs on each, tis all..... :ph43r:
Ugly Duck - April 25, 2005 12:45 PM (GMT)
i think you's find that difficult if you were scattered into tiny; very tiny, little pieces across a 5,000 mile radius...
besides, you have to get through my infinitely powerfull spherical barrier of rage first... *calls lightning to strike sphere* see? even 100,000 volts can't damage it... the resonance helps fuel it, in fact... enjoy the challenge...

actually, i just had an idea. why don't we start a 'Start Something' topic. person A describes a warrior and person B then describes their warrior. Person A has to describe how their thing is defeated by the other. Ok, so it's like, the most nerdiest thing you could ever do on the internet... but i say embrace who you are :D. i think it's one of the most difficult things you can do. heres a link to a previous attempt:
Linky.
what do you think?

Oh, and I'm replying to the post somewhere above this forum...cuz I'm just too lazy to go find it again.....
MR. ANCEL LIVES IN NZ??????????
yay! gimme his details and I'll stalk him down, pin him up against a brick wall and force him to make a sequel!!!!
Secundo - April 26, 2005 03:55 AM (GMT)
Do I need a random insanity board? I REALLY am thinking about remodeling the Akuda Bar into a random insanity joint. I place for Vending RPG's, Trivia matches, Games, (None related to Bge unless you want it to...). Just a place to hang out and have fun.
We have the introduction forums, now we have the gaming forums, why not a real for fun forum? All the sites have them and it is a great bonding place. OF course, I'll have teo lay down (err...clarify) some rules because, agains, most boards do....
But I think that'll be a good idea. Just let me run it by the staff.
Ugly Duck - April 26, 2005 07:58 AM (GMT)
*sigh* we have one of those! OT Freeform!
oh, wait, you want an entire Category... might be nice...

heh... fish could see the explosion from here... might even get splattered... *gets minions to prep nuclear warhead*...
I_am_a_smurfy.Llama - April 27, 2005 09:04 AM (GMT)
Well, to scatter me that far, I think you would have to get past my ten bodyguards and Fish.
Ugly Duck - April 27, 2005 09:58 AM (GMT)
*preps blade, loads clips, puts on dark glasses*
let's do this.
"Standing before Llama's bodygards, trench coat rippling slightly in the wind, the dark sillohet of his powerful frame highlighted by the distant rumble of thunder in the sky behind him, Phil calmly draws his Katana from the sheath on his back and silently flicks it down by his side. the bodyguards, not willing to take any chances with this apparently dangerous intruder, open fire on him, a hail of 9mm FMJs unleashed at the intruder.
Poor mortals, underestimating the power of the individual standing before them... phil ponders as the bullets move towards him, the distance from death drawing shorter through time.. with the possibility of death mere meters from him, phil bends the very fabric of space time around him, and each metal frgment effortlessly refracts around him, phil never having moved once. one by one, the bodyguards realise what they are dealing with, and flee off into the night. the few that refused to believe what had just happened began to draw closer to Phil, closing the distance to death once again, the chances of an end becoming ever more possible.
with swift movement, unmatchable by the strongest and fastesr of legendary warriors, each of those foolish enough to remain were disected into bitesize chunchs to be devoured by the critters.
As Phil moved towards the lone building, he noticed an unnatural movement out of the right corner of his eye... being the paranoid type, he was hardly going to lat it pass. creeping toward the source of the disturbance, he noticed it again, this time to his left... in the direction of the building...
'bah, i don't have time for these games...' he muttered, and decided to contiue towards the home of his hit. he could deal with them afterwards. after all, what could defeat the great Ugly? still, something wasn't right...
he entered the building and stopped dead. There stood fish, holding a telephone cable. he began to talk before Phil had the chance to queery his presence
"before you do anything, know that i have in my hands, the internet connection to the UK in my hands. if you come one step closer, Kerrang radio will no longer be able to reach New Zealand via the internet!"
"you wouldn't dare!" phil retorted, "that is the heart and soul of all rock radio! the seal to the gates of hell! breaking that connection could call all kinds undescribable deamons through the ether!"
"i know...", fish was collected in his tone (which in itself was odd) "do you want to be responsible for the colonisation of hell on earth? no, didn't think so... you know what to do to stop this from happening."
phil was speachless. for the first time in all that he could remember, he was powerless to do anything. that piece of copper held the fate of the earth... the fate of the universe... all he could do was leave. betray his hit for the first time ever...
with no other options, he was forced to abandon his post. his powers. everything he had worked for all these years. without another word, he began to inexist. he did not fade.. but began to appear as if he had never been there.. as if he was becoming camoflaged to his surroundings... and *CLICHE ALERT* was no more.
I_am_a_smurfy.Llama - April 27, 2005 10:04 AM (GMT)
oh very well done! :claps:
but you didn't get quite close enough to blow me up...I was so waiting for that moment!!!! :ph43r: I guess your brain is too female to cope with destroying a true female! *smirks*
*ducks from incoming katana*
Ugly Duck - April 27, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
*fades back into existence, uses super, er.. power thingy to teleport lama into space, llama gets hit by solar flare and, er.. dies, phil wonders what happens when a smurf-llama mutant is hit by a solar flare... fades out of existence again*
i think that getting hit by a blistering hot wave of protons would spread you pretty far. failing that, i accidentally dropped a nuclear device in you're pocket when you weren't looking. ;)
but you're not worth sacraficing kerrang for.. nothing is... :P
I_am_a_smurfy.Llama - May 8, 2005 08:34 AM (GMT)
*jumps from ship, holding breath as she, the llama ninja, ducks underwater and grabs topic, dragging it behind the llama ninja until they both reach land. She sighs, then slaps the topic's face, yelling out, C'mon, C'mon, DON'T die, please!*
Ugly Duck - May 8, 2005 10:22 AM (GMT)
*phil, the life scoruce for all dying forums, passes through BG&E Freeform and spreads good life and healing through every bone, muscel and extremity...*
There are two places left for the BG&E RPG Beta testing on the
BG&E Movie forums. Go Go GO!
Edit: aw, shucks. the places are all filled guys! oh well, you might be able to con one of us out of the game some day...
Lightweight - May 15, 2005 10:42 PM (GMT)
Weird thing: I just clicked on the link above (On Ugly Phil's post), and it sends me on a promotional screen of sorts, and there's no way to enter the actual side. What happened, NHF? lack of money? Or you're just hiding something we're not supposed to see? [readies camera.]
Come on. Open up for us. Don't make me take out the snucular bomb.
[Someone outside] *It's pronounced "nuclear". Nuclear bomb.*
That's what I said. Snucular.
Ugly Duck - May 16, 2005 09:47 AM (GMT)
yeah, i got that. i tell you, i had to go through about fifty different links just to get to this site. usually i can google search "BGE revolution", but now it just gives me some hair roller product... *shudder*... then i tried serching for invision, that didn't work.. then i remembered that i post links in my sigs for my own navigation perpouses, but i couldn't get to the movie site! on that note, i didn't get the DVD! i'm outraged at the postal service! to top it off, bite bug (the screwey little retard) has myseriously deleted the Poll that i spent 5 and a half hours typing... plus i have coursework to be handed it today!
*broods in corner*
anyway, i'm going to try and find a way to link directly to the forums.
Edit: Aha! i'm a genius!... of sorts...
Here.
Edit 2: PHILosipher, just got it... :D

As you may or may not know, I was once practicing to do a speedrun on BG&E. The first trial run was kinda wonky, and I only achieved a time of 3:50. Then, I though, I must have a set plan on which pearls am I going to get, and how's the fastest way through the game. So I borrow my sister's laptop. It's not an advanced laptop... Heck, it still runs on Windows 95 and didn't have word. But it still had notepad, so it was something. I played my most careful game, taking special care to see which pearls, PA-1's, and routes were worthwhile, and listing them on the computer. But then, before I could put my knowledge to practice, Miss Butt-Of-An-Elephant (my sister) sat on the laptop! Now it's broken, and all my info went bye bye (unless I find a miraclous way of ripping the HDD off the laptop and putting it on another computer).
Ugly Duck - May 17, 2005 02:43 PM (GMT)
well done on the 3:50...
lol... tell your sister that she's impeeding the progress of the revolution.. :)!
Ugly Duck - May 23, 2005 02:14 PM (GMT)
so, arn't those little field armadillo's in BG&E funny? what's your favorite animal from BG&E? Other than woof, of course. he's everyone's favorite.
Denden666Piek - May 23, 2005 03:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Woof is my favourite of course... But I was pleasantly surprised with the Raymanus insect, a familiar face, I loved him in Rayman. It was only in my fourth playthrough that I noticed what he was actually sitting on.... And now the dead "reaped"cow is one of my favourites too, he looks really funny! :D
Ugly Duck - May 25, 2005 08:22 AM (GMT)
yeah, i noticed the little rayman thing... i've never actually played it though. i should give it a look... as for the animals, well, the cow is suprisingly funny considering she's had half her torso removed...
c'mon, what's everyone elses fav BG&E animals?
Rocky - June 6, 2005 04:13 AM (GMT)
I like the blue whale behind the lighthouse and the space whale. I also think that the space whale should've been worth more than the Science center pays for it. I mean, come on! It's a frelling whale swimming through SPACE for cryin' out loud! :P
FutureFish - June 6, 2005 06:23 AM (GMT)
I like to use that whale for target practice with the beluga :D
Ugly Duck - June 6, 2005 10:07 AM (GMT)
and you have the cheek to call ME sick? i don't even harm or kill the innocents in Hitman2. in fact i make as few kills as possible... *hmph...*
FutureFish - June 6, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
The whale is invincible!! And it chucks lumps of ice at you. Hmpf also. :P
I always felt guilty about executing the postman on hitman2, I always chlorofoamed him when I found out how.
I_am_a_smurfy.Llama - June 6, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
that manta ray/shark/whale/crab thing that's flying around the slaughterhouse, I think it's near. That one definelty would be my favourite.
FutureFish - June 7, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
