Title: The Ceres Job: Saval Mansion

Jagori - July 14, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
Julie swoops in low and touches down behind a bluff of trees, just out of sight of the mansion, and opens the main door. She turns to the team, as serious as you've seen her yet, and speaks quickly.

"Okay, I can't park here for long, or they'll get suspicious. I'm gonna fly passes with overhead traffic, and keep an eye on things from up there. I'll come down as soon as I see you heading for the extraction point. If you need a fast pickup, gimme a signal and I'll be here in less than a minute. I'll keep an ear on radio coming out of the mansion, too. I hear anything weird, and I'll be on my way." She flashes her characteristic smile. "Good luck!"

After the team disembarks, she closes the door and heads away from the mansion as low as she came, then turns and begins flying high passes toward and away from the landing pads at Lao-Zi.

(Those staying on board - David and Marcus, I believe - head to "Sidelines")

A short walk reveals the mansion, surrounded by an eight-foot wall. Through the front gate, two guards can be seen: one standing on the porch, and one patrolling the grounds. The ground inside the walls is grassy with gravel paths, with trees and bushes placed around the area.

MISSION COMPLETE

For quick reference, here's the floor plans.user posted image user posted image

(By the way: did you guys decide to go at night or during the day? I'll add a bit more description once I know.)

BG&E Voyager - July 14, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
(Bah, I forgot to ask this sooner: where is this phone that I put a bug on, in the War Room I presume? Also, is Den skilled with hacking; does "gadget" count as computers?)

B-Gev finishes a cigar and throws it away, but realizes that it could be evidence, so he picks it up and puts it in his pocket. He's excited to be once again on a mission. He's a bit nervous leaving the ship in the hands of strangers, not so much the beautiful Julie as much as the aristocratic David, who knows if he's heard of B-Gev before.

B-Gev loads his rifle and pistol, hoping not to expect any trouble.

"A'ight, so there's this high wall here, no other entrance but the front, but I t'ink we all know how reliable that will be. We may have to test out our graplin' hooks here first, unless you guys got any other ideas."

(I presume night, but I guess that's up to David)

Jagori - July 14, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
(The phone is in the War Room. From Denden's bio, it says he's not skilled at computer hacking.)

As far as grappling hook points, there are a few trees just inside each corner of the wall, with solid branches not more than a couple feet in. Also, eight feet is low enough for an athlete to grab hold of with a running start or a boost.

BG&E Voyager - July 14, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
(Ahh, didn't see that, thanks)

"Hmm, wall seems low enough ( :P ), maybe one of us can see if they can jump up and nab the edge? I cannot i'm afraid...not the best in athletics, too much rum heheh."

Fomorian - July 15, 2008 11:44 AM (GMT)
(We agreed on the night.)

Gem takes a look around. Then he runs towards the wall, jumps and grabs the edge, not making any noise. He waits a while and takes a careful look above the wall.

(What do I see?)

Jagori - July 15, 2008 02:05 PM (GMT)
After hearing footsteps pass, you peek over the wall to find you're facing the left side of the house (going by the plans' orientation), near the dining room. The wall is 40-50 feet from the house. You see the back of a guard who just walked by on his patrol, heading towards the breezeway. A few lamps cast their light on the gravel path and against the base of the wall.

BG&E Voyager - July 15, 2008 04:46 PM (GMT)
"Sweet Jesus, i'll never get to do that haha. Whadda ya see mate?"

Fomorian - July 15, 2008 04:57 PM (GMT)
Gem jumps off the wall and turns to the other three. Quickly he summarize what he saw (which is written in Jagori's post ;)).

"Seems to me that he's circling around the mansion, so it'll take him some time to get back to that place - so let's do this. We'll go through the wall now and split up - I and the ninja will go to the third window from the right side and through it, into the mansion. There we'll do our tasks. You two" - he points at Denden and B-Gev - "will go cautiously to the back of the garage and - above it - the war room. I advise you, captain, to follow Denden exactly and close to him, he's an expert at sneaking. There you'll wait for the fire alarm and do what you need. We'll help you get up there and through the wall, captain. Are you ready?"

JFSOCC - July 15, 2008 05:05 PM (GMT)
(it's late in the evening)
DenDen takes out his Camera and looks a lot more serious than normal.
His stealth suit already makes him nigh-invisible in plain sight. along with the rest of the team he makes it over the wall. his camera out to survey the grounds and spot security.

he photographs the Dining room, and the entrance through the window that will lead to the room next to the war room. glancing over a guard with his camera he tries to listen in, but other than the footsteps he hears nothing (his camera was able to pick up distance conversations, I believe)

DenDen points at the window to B-gev, then points to Gem. Gem has to enter first, deal with security, but Denden is not one to talk. he believes everyone knows their task.

glancing back, DenDen sees Sabre move away from the group, quietly.

JFSOCC - July 15, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
(I missed the last post. I assumed Sabre would do his thing by himself, but yeah, enter with Gem makes more sense)

BG&E Voyager - July 15, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
"I'm ready to go, let's have at it!"

B-Gev follows Den closely, knowing this is not his area of skill at all.

(We're going to the garage right?)

Jagori - July 15, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
The patrolling guard disappears around the corner of the house.

no, the indentation between the garage and the dining room, around the kitchen area is where we go. there is a storage room through which we enter. also, if you look at the plans closely, you can see that there is a little "roof" area above the 1st floor that the rest of the mansion doesn't have. so it's easier to enter from there as the 2nd floor storage room doesn't take up the same space as the floor below does. we can hide right beside the 2nd floor storage room window (the bottom window)

BG&E Voyager - July 15, 2008 11:24 PM (GMT)
(Ok, so we're right now just waiting?)

To Den

"Listen sir, there'll probably be files on a terminal in that there War Room; I can handle the hacking, so need not worry."

B-Gev pulls out another cigar, and almost starts smoking, but fortunately remembers the danger it could pose, and puts it away.

Jagori - July 15, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
(Yeah, we're waiting for Fomorian and Reaper)

Fomorian - July 16, 2008 07:56 AM (GMT)
Gem opens the window and gets in. There, he waits for Sabre to get in and listens for the guards.

(If they're still in kitchen and when Sabre is in.)
He motions to Sabre to follow him and moves quietly towards the edge between the corridor and the dining room. He hugs his back to the wall and leans forward, looking what's in the dining room.

Jagori - July 16, 2008 03:02 PM (GMT)
The dining room is pretty lavish: solid heavy wood table, red velvet tablecloth, chairs to match, lit dimly by a chandelier. There doesn't seem to be anyone in it.

Fomorian - July 16, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
Gem motions Sabre, telling him the coast is clear and moves quietly near the wall to the entrance and - once again - leans forward.

Jagori - July 16, 2008 05:46 PM (GMT)
Through the glass front door, you can see the guard standing watch on the porch. He's looking from side to side, but not far enough back to see you.

The study's door is closed and has no window. You can hear at least two people chatting inside.

Fomorian - July 16, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
Gem turns to Sabre and whispers: "OK, you wait here and watch out. When I'm done, I'll show you thumbs up, so you can do your part." After this he sneaks towards the study. There he hugs the wall and lowers his head to listen to the conversation - while doing this he opens his special purse. From it, he takes a special device, having on one end a long plastic tube and an inflation bulb on a tube as well. Between those two tubes there is a device, pumping a sleeping gas (think of it as kind of traditional sphygmomanometer, only more violent in nature). He lowers himself, just in case hides his face (not to take any gas in if some of it comes out) and pumps the gas into the study.

Jagori - July 16, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
(Roll me 3d20 and give me the results of each die)

Fomorian - July 16, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)
(13, 14, 7. I'm taking that there are three guards there?)

Jagori - July 16, 2008 06:18 PM (GMT)
(I'll make a post about the roll in OOC after lunch.)

The guard on the porch looks over the yard, unaware of the security breach not ten feet behind him. You hear the chatting in the room slow down a bit. The occupants realize something is wrong, but too late, as the talking stops altogether with two dull thuds.

(The room is yours. Go ahead and narrate your entrance however you want.)

The_Evil_Reaper - July 16, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
(wow, this is suddenly moving at a lightning speed, I'll try to catch up tomorrow, fill in for me until then will you Jagori?)

JFSOCC - July 17, 2008 10:10 AM (GMT)
we're all waiting on you

Fomorian - July 17, 2008 10:38 AM (GMT)
Gem listened to the conversation, getting slower and slower, until it finally stopped, followed by two thuds (:P). The guard on the porch seems as if he didn't notice a thing. Gem smiles and thinks: 'Like a candy from a baby'. He hides the device - keeps his face hidden, though, there might be some gas still - motions Sabre to wait, quietly opens the door and enters. He quietly closes the door and looks around.

The_Evil_Reaper - July 17, 2008 12:31 PM (GMT)
(sorry guys! But I'm here now :D Oh and Kitchen, dining room and study room are clear right?)

Sabre was impressed by Gem's skills, and thought he might do well as a Ninja, if it wasn't for his "bountyhunter" job. Sabre looked around quickly to see if he could spot a smoke detector, so the war room could be cleared of it's guards.

(where's the nearest detector? And are there any guards there?)

After Sabre spotted a detector(and stuff around it), he looked around for a quick escape to a hiding spot, it's not smart to stand in the line of sight when everyone comes rushing out. He motions over to Gem to find a spot as well. (it's good we're all trained in sign language <_<)

(How do I signal to Den and B-Gev to stay out of sight, or are they already snugly and safe?)

JFSOCC - July 17, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
(the alarm will be noticed and be their cue to move.)

Jagori - July 17, 2008 03:26 PM (GMT)
In contrast to the rest of the mansion, the security setup in the study is fairly bare. The concrete floor and plain walls are lit by two hanging lights, as well as a glow from the windows. Monitoring systems are on a long console against the wall, where both guards have fallen out of their chairs. The second guard's radio lies next to his outstretched hand. It's obvious to Gem where the current security feed is recorded.

(The only security was the guards, so go ahead and do your stuff)

Sabre: there are detectors in the kitchen and dining room. You'll also spot one in the study if you go in there. There are tables or chairs nearby each of them that would support your weight.

Fomorian - July 17, 2008 04:55 PM (GMT)
Gem once again reaches to his purse and takes out a pair of gloves - which he puts on immediately - and an electronic visor, which he raises to his eyes and looks through. As far as he can tell, there are no special protections on the console or anywhere near it, so he hides the visor and gets to work.

He calmly, yet cautiously goes to the security console and turns off the power. Afterwards he looks for a clean tape and exchanges it with a tape from the console.

The guard are sleeping like babies when he leaves, shows a thumb up to Sabre and sneaks to hide in nearby bathroom. He stops listening for any motion, signifying a person in it.

(Objective complete.)

Jagori - July 17, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
The bathroom is clear.

Fomorian - July 17, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
Gem carefully opens the bathroom, gets in and closes the door from inside. He settles in the lotus position on the floor and waits. It's all up to Sabre now.

JFSOCC - July 17, 2008 05:51 PM (GMT)
Denden is on the look-out for the patrolling guard, even though he is well hidden from view, Denden wishes to be inside the mansion before he passes again.

The_Evil_Reaper - July 17, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
Sabre sees a few smokedetectors and picks the one in the kitchen, he figures it's an easy place to get a fire in the first place. It might get less suspicion to start the alarm there, and there's plenty of places to hide. Sabre spots a large closet and, after quietly moving some stuff around, he finds room to fit himself. He turns back to the smoke detector, climbs on the table and lights a match.

Before the alarm has time react, Sabre is already safe in his hiding spot...

(Assuming I succeed, there's not much to screw up)

Jagori - July 17, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
(I dunno... standing on a table? Lighting a match? Sounds like tough work even for a ninja! Btw, I don't see a closet on the plans, so I'll assume you meant the little area between kitchen and dining room.)

A mercenary lounges on the couch in the sitting room, playing some sort of video game on a screen. He starts getting agitated, talking at the game. "No, no... come on! No! F***! Don't... AAGH!" He jumps to his feet. "NO! DAMMIT!" He throws the controller at the wall, and lets loose a vicious stream of swears. The wind is taken out of his sails when a loud siren goes off. He stands shocked for a moment, and looks around, before finally realizing what's going on. By that time, though, Sabre's long since hidden himself. The merc finally regains himself, and runs straight out the front door.

Denden sees the patrolling guard change course and run to the front of the house, where he meets the porch guard and the merc from inside. The breezeway guard turns and runs as well, right past Denden and B-Gev to the front of the house. The merc and porch guard are having an agitated conversation over the noise of the siren.

"What the hell's going on?"

"Fire alarm. Don't look at me like that, dammit! I didn't start this one."

"Well, whatever. They'll have it under control soon, then you can go back to wasting your time and our money playing that stupid game."

"I'm not... you... " the merc reaches for his knife. "You shut the f*** up or -"

The patrol guard cuts in. "Easy, guys. We're on the same side, here. Or at least all getting paid by the same guy."

The merc snorts derisively and re-sheathes his knife. "If killing you didn't mean less pay for me, you'd be long gone."

BG&E Voyager - July 17, 2008 06:42 PM (GMT)
"By God that's our signal there! Those guards there gotta take that pole outta their behinds. Alright, let's go; i'm right behind ya good sir. Hope they don't gotta guard at the War Room."

The_Evil_Reaper - July 17, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)

(I think I see a small closet next to the fridge, but it's not important. Even if he got in the fridge, it doesn't matter :P Although, fridges do survive nuclear missiles... If you believe the latest Indiano Jones)

JFSOCC - July 17, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
Denden gives one of his grappling hooks to B-Gev and uses his own by throwing it up to the roof. quickly and quietly he pries open the side window of the storage room, glances inside. seeing no-one there and hearing footsteps going from the war room to the stairs (I'm assuming here, correct me if I'm wrong) Denden sneaks inside, but not before he motions B-gev in.

Holding his ear to the door, Denden quietly starts counting. considering the coast clear if no sound is heard for 15 seconds...

Jagori - July 18, 2008 06:41 AM (GMT)
You hear a door click shut, then three sets of footsteps heading down the stairs, then nothing.

Fomorian - July 18, 2008 08:33 AM (GMT)
Gem hears the fire alarm, which tells him Sabre managed to do his task. He gets up and waits for the last person to leave.
