I found a new game by accident,called Venetica.

As I watched the trailer,I thought:"Well,this is definately like Beyond Good and Evil".
A girl as a main protagonist,some fight scenes ala Zelda a detailed town where you can walk around and water water water.
Ok,there is magic and it plays around the 16th Century,but I still have the feeling tht this is like BG & E.And I think it will be as good as BG & E.

Whoa! The graphic style is like this one in BG&E! And that city style... Hmm.. Similar to hillys as hell. Venetica.. Something tells me that i will remember this title very well.

Nay, the main character looks too slutty for that.
That is one of the main good points in BG&E, a main female character without looking too slutty or something like that.

I don't know, it looks like it will have more fighting and less jump'n'run elements, unlike BG&E.

Apart from a smiliar style in the architecture of the buildings there is little to none resemblance to Beyond Good & Evil.

And while BG&E is set in a Science-Fiction world (which I adore) Venetica looks more like Fantasy (which I detest a little).

While I don't like the graphic design, the setting is pretty cool (16th century!). I'll have to keep an eye on this.

I think it looks utterly awful, and nothing like BG&E in the important elements. It doesn't look humorous or subtle, it doesn't look intelligently designed or stuffed with rich characters. That being said, it also looks a darn sight more inventive than anything coming out anytime soon, so I'll keep an eye on it.

Or it is a bad trailer or the game sucks. I know I never played BGE so why should I comment here. Well I looked at this trailer and I just wanted to give my opinion :P

it looks really good thats for sure.
also the whole style is good in my opinion. nice settings indeed.

now maybe it is just me but till now I did not see a story. She gets slain and she gets up and kills the one who just killed her. and then she starts killing everybody.
maybe the creators wanted me to go and guess what it is all about but I do not like it.
I mean come on: "what path will you choose?" I dunno I have no idea what I can do and you probably have to choose to go and kill people.
well maybe they want to make people curious and that is good but a little more information would be nice.

now with my experience in these kind of games (walking around and stuff) is not really that good. In fact I suck when playing these kind of games cause I'm not very good at using all the different buttons to walk pick things up, jump and run away in the same time. And that sucks because by the time I finally try to run I get killed and I'm still in the tutorial :P (nah I'm not THAT bad but yes the AI of these games owns me big time. Or sometimes I just totally suck cause I keep jumping in the watter and die or in other things and of course I'm not able to dodge enemies)

So I do not know what to expect from this game. till know I'm curious but on the other hand I'm like well f*ck that cause it probably doesn't have a story. and in these kind of games I like a story. and I will be killd anyway. So I'm also curious about the gameplay ^_^

now you also know why I usually play strategy games 0:) just walking your troops around with one click of the mouse B)

Besides, you're not that bad, you can manage yourself in games like Gears of Wars and Timesplitters. Playing these close combat games isn't that much more difficult. In fact, because of the always existing RPG elements, they might be easier.

Venetica looks nice, but I mean the water and the surroundings. Still, it's not very next-gen, but I guess that BGE-ish touch about the town does catch my attention.

But to be honest:
"In a world full of secrets, there is one with hidden powers, strong enough to challenge DEATH!"
Where did that get that from? Worlds cheesiest one-liners? Seriously... <_<

If you want an example how to make cheesy lines sound pretty good, check out the old Fable trailer. Man I was addicted to that trailer back then...

It looks like a hybrid of Tomb Raider & Prince of Persia. I am intrigued.

hey here's what it's about.

The story of Venetica takes place in a sixteenth century styled world where Death is a physical being. Death follows the instructions of a group known as Corpus. Every generation, Corpus must select the successor for Death. In the game's story, the council has accidentally chosen a necromancer who intends to bring complete death and destruction upon the world. This necromancer has immortalized himself through death. The current Death and Corpus cannot stop him. The only person capable of stopping him is Scarlett, who is the daughter of Death. She must cultivate and grow her powers to save her father and the world from the necromancer.

it looks cool and reminds me a bit of BG&E. i hope they plan to put it on the wii,ps3 or ds becuase it's more or likely that i'll get one of those. yeah i know its also for the pc but all of my computers Suck and don't work at all or hardly work at all.

always weird that an aimmortal person can always be slain by somebody.
but the story does explain some things. she is the saughter of death so death can bring her back to live.

the trailer however gave me the idea you are going to fight death. but now death is your daddy and you fight for him cause he can't solve the buisness.

so in the end it is just a sucky trailer

anyway what I do know is that you still got no path to choose. you must slay the necromancer or everybody is dead. NICE <_<

This was the cheesiest trailer I saw for weeks, if not for month.
Anyway, it looks interesting, but not much like BGE in my opinion. The subtle funny things are missing, the main character looks a bit too... well I won't also say slutty, but it goes in the direction.

Well,I noticed that the clothing style of Scarlett is nearly like the one from Jade.ok,Jade hasn't got a shirt with free shoulders,but you can see the navel of her belly,too.She also has trousers where you can even see her underwear (Well,but just a little bit,it's pink,I think) ,Scarlett have also some "low trousers".
And by the way,Scarlett looks realistic,but still like in a comic.Yes,I know,she looks a little bit slutty,but I think Jade has also some clothing that makes her sorta "slutty" (but still far away from that,you know what I mean).But still,I agree that Scarlett is more "slutty".
Hmmm...I hope that the "new" Jade in BG&E2 won't get this style... :blink:

And yes,I know it will be no BG&E,but I think its closer to it than some other games,thats what I meant. :D

Well,I hope that this game will be as good as BG&E.I'm looking forward,because Deck13 made some good games (although they were Point and Click-Adventures) in the past.

Yes, but not 'till way after I beat it! :P There's a few of them I think.

When I got BG&E for the PC, it didn't work at first. I tried it on all different computers and it never worked. I spent the time in between watching all the trailers, and all it did was make me want to play it all the more. I found a way to get it to work, but by the time I had completed it, I had spent more time trying to fix it than I had playing it.

So, yes I saw all the trailers, but only after by erratic impulse buy.

I downloaded the video and it looks pretty generic to me, and besides that the 1600s setting isn’t very exciting for me.
IMO the girl looks just like Laura croft from the newest TR games.

I love it! It really reminds me of Dreamfall with more action. I love the heroine -she looks like me! Although I really wouldn't wear those pants...
I wish they would release it on ps2...

It looks to me like it would have no problem running on PS2. Oh BURN! Ha ha I don't know it looks alright I definetly get how you saw BG&E in this.
