Title: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Rocky - June 1, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
We've seen trailers, read articles and interviews, and looked at screens, and we still know only a few of the details about this game. Nonetheless, I am beyond psyched for it, psyched like I was for Revenge of the Sith. Anyone else excited for this game?

Ugly Duck - June 1, 2005 10:04 PM (GMT)
i would be if it was multi format. but if nintendo are going to restict their games to their consoles, i'm not buying into the franchise. I really loved the original zelda games as well. *sigh*...

Kenninator - June 1, 2005 10:18 PM (GMT)
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS GAME! It's gonna be great.

Rocky - June 1, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
Phil, Zelda has almost always been on Nintendo systems. The only time there was one on another was when Phillips made those three horrible Zelda games that Nintendo disavowed.

Ugly Duck - June 1, 2005 11:29 PM (GMT)
N64; my first console. Zelda; my first N64 game. since the PSone, i haven't bought another console/handheld. and i don't plan to until i become a millionnaire! :D which, ironically, will come about through the development of a console... :s

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask for the win.

Secundo - June 2, 2005 02:05 AM (GMT)
I haven't read anything about this game since it was "Zelda: Tenative Title."

So, I can't make an informed decision. But, I'm always ready for the Zelda games! So, I'll be getting it once it becomes a "players choice"

BUT, I do the the title is stupid... Twilight Princess? Sounds like a terrible parady of a rock band...

Rocky - June 2, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure about the Princess half of the title, but I know Twilight plays a big role. It has to do with this other realm, the Twilight realm, which is kinda reminiscing of the Dark World of Link to the Past, but itsn't a complete other world in itself. More of something that's consuming Hyrule. It's the place where Link becomes a wolf.

Lightweight - August 6, 2005 03:51 AM (GMT)
Oh, come on, Secundo. Think about it... Twilight Princess... It's the perfect contradiction!

What comes into your mind when you hear "Twilight"?
... Besides "The Twilight Zone".
Darkness... despair... sorrow... shadow...

What do you imagine when you hear "Princess"?
Cute... Pink... prissy... Disney...

Sure, I was a tad skeptical when I first heard of it too, but it's grown on me, nad I don't mind now.

Plus, it looks like it's gonna rawk! I'm so geeky, I already reserved the game. Fully paid.

I have no life...

hehe perhaps you all know this pictures already, but I am going to post them anyway :P

Well that is what I found :P ow I just have to say this :P

ZELDA RULEZZZZ!!!! Just look at the game...it...is...brilliant...

Denden666Piek - November 1, 2005 02:34 PM (GMT)
I don't think Sjaak will confess anything, except that he STILL hates Zelda. But Evil Reaper will probably be impressed, and why wouldn't he be?

I LOVE The Wind Waker, and this game is going to be just as good, if not better. It's just a pity that they didn't continue the story from the Wind Waker, although this story is going to be very good too. And maybe we'll see The Wind Waker 2 on the Revolution, although I think that will upset a lot of gamers...again.

Wazzupdude - November 2, 2005 01:05 PM (GMT)
...Twilight princess looks a little bit like Ocarina of Time ... and I thought Twilight Princess was a sequal on Ocarina of Time. But The Windwaker is also a sequal so...perhaps...it is a new Zelda :P

I really can't wait to be able 2 play this game on my own GC !!
I have played the Horse batle demo in a gamesconvention a while ago. Althow i had seen it several times in videos i was stunned about how super cool it was. It was a great experiance and i am sure the rest of the game will give me the same feeling i had playing that 10 min batle with a hell of a lot of people humping my leg all the time  ... if you know what i mean ;).

This is seurly going to be a great game, maybe one of the best Zelda's ever !

I'm sure it will be, nintendo's doing everything that can be done to make it even better than Ocarina of Time.

Personally, I'm really curious about the rumors that the Twilight Princess will have special functions on the Revolution. That you can use the Revolution controller's special abilities with this Gamecube game.

Secundo - February 19, 2006 05:08 AM (GMT)
0.o This game will be well worth the game.

I think this should become a Nintendo tradition. Make a salute to the system in the form of an awesome game at the end of the consoles life!

And Ugly Phil. I wish you luck in your attempt to take over the world by making video game consoles! :sinister:

Twilight Princess is a prequel to Wind Waker. Remember how in WW everything was all covered in water and Hyrule was like... y'know... Now, how do you think that happened? What are the answers to the questions of WW's past?

It links Ocarina (which I have never played) to Wind Waker.

... Is there seriusly going to be a WW2?

G.A.Pster - February 19, 2006 07:29 AM (GMT)
It looks pretty cool, I didn’t like the cell shaded look of wind waker.

I hope so, but it's most unlikely. Nintendo made a brave attempt to do something different, and I loved it. But if they're going for the same graphical style again they might lose fans.

I don't think they are going to lose fans, everybody i know loved WW, the style was splendid and at first i din't know what to think but once it had me in it's ninti grip i couldn't let this game go !! I really loved the WW it was a great adventure for sure !! the style was superb. I'm sure almost everybody who posts in this topic would also buy The Twilight Princess if it was cell shaded just because it's zelda and you want it, you will never be able to do anything about that.....

I think you just want to know what link's next adventure will be like and if Princes Zelda will get cought by gannon again.... i know i would def. buy it even if it was cell shaded. Afcourse cell shaded looks less nice than this OOT style because this is seurly way cooler but once you get used to the WW style it's an adventure i will never forget B) ......

Denden666Piek - February 19, 2006 10:47 AM (GMT)
I must say I prefer the Wind Waker's style over OoT's style. I'm not quite sure about the style used in Twilight Princess, it seems to have certain similarities in the Wind Waker style. I heard it's using the same engine(heavily modified of course), for lightning effect and stuff.

Hraesvelgr - February 20, 2006 06:53 AM (GMT)
Well, yeah, it's using the same engine. It was actually announced at one point that anyone who put Twilight Princess on preorder with enough cash down would recieve a newer edition of WW made up to look just like TP, graphics-wise. I went out and put it on preorder as soon as I heard that.

But that was several months ago. I'm not sure if that's still a current offer.

Duke - February 20, 2006 08:25 AM (GMT)
Yes, before everyone knew it was going to be this Oot-like style, Nintendo said that it would use the same engine. That's why many people thought there was going to be another Zelda using Wind Waker graphics...

Btw, this game has been delayed AGAIN, it was supposed to come out in November 2005, then they moved it to spring 2006 and now it's shifted again to fall this year. :ahh:

Denden666Piek - February 20, 2006 01:03 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I've read it. Let's this is final. Now I know how the Zelda-fans felt like when OoT was postponed over and over again. Maybe history will repeat itself and TP will be one of the greatest games ever! :)

I'm not expecting any less from it, that's for sure!

Hraesvelgr - February 21, 2006 06:21 AM (GMT)
Well, it'll either be really really awesome or it'll really really suck. But at least we can be sure it'll be finished product and not rushed like so many games these days are.

Duke - February 21, 2006 07:23 AM (GMT)
I disagree, I think it will be awesome no matter what. I've played it on the Power Unlimited Gameplay and it was great.

I agree with Duke when we played it at the Power Unlimited Gameplay it was awsome !! That horse-batle was great and intence !!

I know TTP will be a great adventure !!!

It's true that ninti has a special edition for TTP as they had for WW it would be awsome to get WW in TTP gfx !! But i will def get the special edition :welldone: .

Denden666Piek - February 21, 2006 05:22 PM (GMT)
I don't think Nintendo would take the trouble of remaking the Wind Waker with TP-style graphics, and I don't think they should either. The Wind Waker was beautiful and giving it more "mainstream" graphics just wouldn't feel right. The Wind Waker was made for that particular Cell-shading style and vice versa, they should leave it alone.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Twilight Princess will be a classic from the day it's released.

I've just read that it's Zelda's birthday: on 21 februari 1986 the first Zelda-game was released in Japan. So the series is 20 years old!!!

Duke - February 22, 2006 08:05 AM (GMT)
It was confirmed that the whole "WW in TP graphics" story was an April fools joke. There will be a special edition though.

I would love to have the Special Edition.....

Duke shall we go get TTP together just like we went to Den Haag to get WW.
I do hoope we get the special edition m8 0:) .

Duke - February 22, 2006 03:46 PM (GMT)
Maybe, I might feel the need to import it (and buy the European version later)...

Depends on what the releasedate is going to be.

DAMN YOU, NINTENDO!!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE MAY 2005. FRICKIN' MAY!!!! AND NOW YOU TELL US WE'LL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL FALL? THAT'S IT! I'M TAKING MY PREORDER MONEY AND GETTING KINGDOM HEARTS II! SEE YOU IN...

Well, maybe I could wait another month or so to see if a preorder bonus surfaces... BUT IF THERE'S NOTHING FOR US, I'M BOMBING YOUR HQ! BE WARNED!

As Myamoto and Duke always say: A delayed game is eventually better than a rushed game B) .

Right duke ??

Ps. M8 don't bomb their HQ i still want Ninti games  .... pleaze ?

Hraesvelgr - February 23, 2006 06:17 AM (GMT)
I would ask him not to bomb the HQ because, if it turns out that way, I may be there assissinating execs. That way I just get those responsible and Nintendo can stick around as a company.

Go ASSASSIN! :ph43r:

You know, I've been waiting since May 2004!
Now that was one beautiful evening when it was anounced.

I watched the E3 press conference LIVE, which was really awesome. When the press conferene was almost over, Reggie invited us to: "Step into one more world for Nintendo Gamecube".

I had this feeling it was gonna be Zelda, because it was almost certain that TTW2 would be announced (but everyone expected those graphics).

So as I saw a realistic landscape I thought it was some kind of weird RPG I wouldn't buy... I was so wrong.
The videoquality of the live webcast was pretty bad, so the quality of the trailer wasn's so good. But after a couple of seconds I realised we were getting a realistic Zelda. I got that same feeling I get when I'm REALLY excited. (Like the first shots of the Gamecube in 2000 I think it was).

Anyway, I tried to download the trailer from the official Nintendo site but the place was so busy that it crashed. What an awesome moment in my life.

So when I was a bit relaxed I tried to call a friend of mine who happens to be a member here. Too bad that he wasn't there to pick up the phone (you know what I mean ;))

Well, anyone still reading? Hehe, what was the point of me writing again? Oh yeah, saying that I was waiting for it a year earlier. Childish isn't it?

Plus - February 23, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
Lol duke i know i was in bed  :P ....... but i remeber the day after when u called me i thought tou were making a joke like u do almost always i will get one soon you better watch you back m8 :ph43r: .
Ok but after u called i rember almost directly going to your house to see it and i was shocked :ahh: i was soled at the first sec you see a horse {you already told me it was zelda} i got a great blast en wanted to jump up in the air and well as you had i had a great feeling come over me that this was going to become the next zelda !! 0:) since that moment i am following this game with every step it makes !

Remeber us standing like 1 houre and 20 min orso to play the zelda horse batle we had already seen more than 12 times :D.... it was still a great experiance even with the dorks breathing in your nek !! IT WAS AWSOME !!

Denden666Piek - February 24, 2006 01:51 AM (GMT)
I love it when you guys talk about your Zelda experiences like that, and it's not even about play-experiences. It's much better, it's talk about the period of longing and desire. Unfortunately, also about delay and (im)patience. The Wind Waker was and still is the only game that I bought for full-price, and if the Special Edition of TTP contains something REALLY cool like the WW's SE did, then I'll pay full-price again.

Hraesvelgr - February 24, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT)
Quite enthralling conversation between these two, I must say. Like how I felt waiting for SoulCalibur3 to come out (except it was rushed instead of delayed <_< ).

And of course it was ps2 exclusive, another mistake of Namco in my opinion. It may only have been because of Link, but Soul Calibur 2 sold best on the Gamecube. I would have loved to play with Link in another Soul Calibur. But I mustn't complain, really. Namco did more than enough good things for the Gamecube.

Hraesvelgr - February 25, 2006 06:39 AM (GMT)
Yeah, a lot of people had that bug, Denden. Actually, counting the PS2 I had to get in order to play the game, I spent upwards of $150 just to be able to play the thing. But, I guess that's what happens you become a hardcore fan.

Of course, I'd do the same for BGE2 and Twilight Princess (if it became necessary).

There's always a small chance that Nintendo will move TP to the Revolution, in that case it's fine to me because I'm going to buy the Revolution anyway. But what if BG&E2 would be exclusive to the PS3, XBOX360 and/or pc only? Then I would feel totally screwed, because I can't afford those consoles or a high-end pc.

Duke - February 25, 2006 10:50 AM (GMT)
Well, there's a pretty big chance that will happen.

We can all agree here that BG&E2 will come on a next-generation platform if it will come whatsoever. (unless they're developing it right now but I don't think so).

Anyway, if the Revolution gets the same treatment as the Gamecube has now, BG&E2 may not be coming to Revolution. Maybe it's graphics are so inferior and the controller to revolutionary that it would be a pain in the ass to port it.
Have you get any idea how much games are on Ps2 and Xbox and not on Gamecube? A unbelievable amount!
