OK, guys. This is mostly wildish speculation and not actually anything confirmed... but when you look at the facts, it sounds pretty suspicious!

You guys have heard of Avatar, right? The new mega-sized James Cameron movie about blue aliens with out-the-wazoo CGI? Well, the movie has a pretty big game adaptation. Made by Ubisoft. And one of the most important characters in that game adaptation is... well.

Check her out.

Her name is Kendra Midori. She's a racially ambiguous (though her last name suggests Japanese) scientist/photographer who loves nature and is recording stuff about the area plants and animals. She's trapped between two sides of a war and has to uncover the truth for herself. She has black hair, a headband, and a green jacket that she wears over a tank top. And a stylish side bag.

Hmmmmm...

Oh, her last name also means "Green."

Nothing confirmed, but she definitely looks like she could be Jade with the serial numbers filed off...

I think you guys are beginning to see things. I doubt the character from Avatar has anything to do with Jade. Yeah, there may be some simmilarities, but for heck's sake, there's been a fashion for dark-haired, tomboy chars ever since (ever seen a confident, blonde protagonist chick in any western game?). It's not really the most original design idea if you ask me, so I doubt guys from Ubi had Jade on their mind while designing Kendra.

You might be right, but seeing things that aren't there make life fun. Still, I think there's an awful lot of similarities.

Srsly look back at all the Jade references there have been in videogames over the last year, not to mention the lists it has appeared in.

Only proves the influence of the original, it says nothing about any sequel.

Yeah but surely the more attention given to the first game means more attention to the second?
