Alright I'm back to work on the website which is quite a feat, let me tell you. School's wrapping up, I'm fiercely on the job hunt, and yet I still find time to work for this place. THAT'S HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU.

However, there are still a few things I'm unsure of as I dive back into the web design world. One of the biggest ones for me is the website logo. I know a logo isn't necessary but it is for me, so there. Anyway, as you can see for the website mock-up I've made I basically slapped one together using the game's logo and the word "Revolution":



Now I don't mind the idea of it, using the game's logo with the word Revolution. But it's gotta be better than that. And maybe it could be completely different. The point is, I want to see what you guys can come up with! Now because I may or may not have completely run out of money at this point I can't promise any kind of reward other than "It gets to go on the site!", but I'd still like to get as many options as I can. What I'd really like to do is figure out some way to reward everybody on this site just for being awesome, but we'll see.

So give me your best logos! I'm looking forward to it.

Starting now. Got any ideas for a theme or style? Professional, stylish, painterly, natural, subtle, etc? Any input will help inform the final thing.

New or original BG&E style? I think we should go for the new look, to reinforce the image to newcomers. Thoughts?

I'd say something that reflects the new, simpler style. I really love stylish, minimalist websites, not just because I'm incapable of designing anything else but because I've always liked that. Up to you whether you want to incorporate the original BG&E logo into it though. I've always thought it looks odd when a title has such an iconic logo and is written out in a different font, but that certainly doesn't mean it's a bad idea.

Got two website design ideas so far, with a logo design for each. One is a brick and plaster wall design, not sure where I'm going with it but it looks good. Thinking it might be a graffiti style. The logo and all the buttons kinda stencilled on. The other one is a heavily minimalist design, light colour pallet of the BG&E2 trailer, greens up top and light magnolia for the main page, a text-only logo with hand-drawn letters.

I'll give you a sneaky peak tomorrow.

I do a lot of logo's for commissions of sorts, but they mostly consist of line-art. A few examples:











Yet, with my current photoshop skills, I could probably work something out. What would you like? Do you need the revolution letters to be incorperated in it?

I found an old game on the Internet today that was a staple of my gaming childhood and I've been having a big nostalgia orgy, hence the lack of an update. I'll post something tomorrow instead.

Reaper, I thought at first that you were suggesting those designs for our website. I was all over the Aladdin one. Don't know why they've got pocket protectors but that makes it all the better. We'll use it!

I don't know if we need anything incorporated into the logo besides just the letters, but if you think you've got something awesome then show it! Whatever it is. Looking forward to it! See this is why I like working with a community. I get the chance to not do any work delegate things.

EDIT - WHOA!!! Jmk!! I know who you are! Hey I know you've got Project Green going on right now but do you think you could let the deviants at the BGE club know about this website at some point? We need as many artistic peeps as we can get.

Also we should talk at some point. I'd love to see the DA fans and the Revolutionaries come together somehow. We want a fan-art section on the website, it'd be great if we could hook that up with the BGE club. We'll see!

EDIT AGAIN - Oh hey look you're already awesome and plugged our site. Sweet! Well still, we should figure something out for the future.

Basically all the things I posted for commission work I do for my study, so Aladin an Jasmin are dressed in doctor and operation assistent outfits.

Anywho, I don't do much with logo's with letters, except perhaps for example 3 (which says "JVT 4", but that was my own design and not an edit of a font)

I do have a friend who does these sorts of logo's (this is for his house and the people in it):



I could ask him to do something like this/teach me how to do something like this. We're pretty much photoshop buddies :P My logo's are very visual, his are more textual with visual aspects.

But that list is of immense proportions, and I'm kinda swamped to friday next week (tests), so I'll ask then ;)

Giving up on the Brick design because it kinda doesn't work. I'm going to instead just try and do this hand-drawn logo design. I'm also designing a website for my dad at the moment, to give you an idea of the kind of look / quality I'm shooting for.

Still haven't had the time to do it, and I'm going to have postpone it for now. I'm so swamped, I might as well live in a frikkin' swamp.

Well, actually I tried that, but a green ogre kicked me out...

So, I'll get back on it in indefinite time.

Since Reaper has taken the laziness bullet here, I'll step up and say that I'm not working on this because I realised how much I don't know html and css and php and everything to do with web design, however I am practising it by making my dad's website. Once I complete that, if I feel like I have the ability to work on this shit, I'll step up again.

This one honestly wasn't a matter of apathy though, as much as it was a complete devastating lack of skill.

Oi, apparently add me to the "too busy" list. Lots of really hard exams I have to take and I've already failed one, sooo...yeah. Then I'm starting a software internship and then, well, then I might be unemployed so I'd probably have plenty of time then. Sorry for just dropping off the planet for a while though, I hate it when people do that.

I'm still committed to getting this done, no worries. I might be able to find some web design people around here to help too. I really need an awesome BG&E2 announcement to get me fired up or something. Can someone invent one? Thx.

I tried something with a TV, it didn’t work for a logo, (it would probably work for a videos section)

Between large bouts of free time and trying to figure out what I should design to add too my web design portfolio I am way to busy to help.

Oi, Reaper is back! (and had a little too much coffee, which is the reason why he's still wide awake at 3)

Anywho, I'm passed my busy spell, which I survived pretty well, passed almost every test (had to resit one, but passed the resit). Still awaiting 2 grades, but the last test I did (last friday) went so well, that I'm not sweating it. And the other grade is actually not that important.

Still, this week I'm going to round up some stuff I left unfinished and after that I'll start my a small training period (as the translation said) on pulmonary diseases. It's basically scientific research on a smaller and easier level.

Getting to my point...

I think, with the emphasis on think, that I am going to have a lot more time on my hands, since I have the evenings off to do what I want. No more studying outside 9 to 5. So, I'll put back the website logo on my to do list. :D I'll keep you guys posted!
