Title: Anybody else notice the Intergalactic Commission?
Description: Hillyan News story...really BIG hint?

Long time no talk, I know. But I was lurking around the old Hillyan News site and I noticed a story that I wonder why it hasn't been given bigger attention...there's a chance that you all prolly got around to this before I did, but I'm willing to sound the fool now.

Intergalactic Commission Approves Use of More Alpha Sections Troops

To answer the increase in alien attacks, the Intergalactic Commission has sent fresh detachments of elite Alpha Sections troops to bolster regular army defenses. This order further illustrates not only the Guild's deep concern for the planet's welfare - but also the care they are taking to ensure the safety of each and every last Hillyan.

....now, we all know how well THAT turned out. Seeing as the site was mentioned in-game, it might even be semi-canonical too. Does this mean that the DomZ have control of this Guild and are using this as a legitimate front to get the Alphas in? Are these people/"people" the reason why Jade seems to be planethopping in Beyond Good and Evil 2? Were these guys, and the Alpha Sections, originally a legitimate organization before the DomZ came in? Or are they a front for something bigger? Worth a thought at least.

In related news, the Internet Archive has thankfully backed up the IRIS NETWORK site, with the exception of only one article! http://web.archive.org/web/20040226194804/...network.net/uk/

Excellent I never noticed that.

The Domz could definitely be in control of it
Or it could be the Intergalactic Commission was just getting paid off by the Domz, or the Intergalactic Commission could just be using the Domz for some dastardly purpose.

Yeah, it seems so.

Considering the website also mentions the war going on for centuries in Hillys...makes you wonder how exactly they managed to drag it out so long.

Some of the older info like this is quite contradictory... The site says the war was ongoing on Hillys for centuries, but according to Pey'j's MDisk in game, Hillys was peaceful when he and Jade came there! Also, why would the DomZ need to attack Hillys so strongly if they didn't think Shauni was there? Verrry odd.

That's an old glitch. Jade says "fighting for generations", Pey'j says everything was alright when he arrived at Hillys. So there are two propositions.

Interesting find; though I guess Ubi is no stranger to contradictions :P

Some of the older stuff is quite strange. I think some of it even claimed that Jade's parents gave her her camera when she was a baby... But who'd give an infant a camera, and why would a serious reporter keep using old technology? But I'm in serious nitpicking mode. :P
