Title: Mario is still the king!
Denden666Piek - February 12, 2006 03:41 PM (GMT)
Looking at these
numbers, it's clear that despite many Gamecube owner's whining about Mario being milked, it's necessary for Nintendo to survive. Resident Evil 4 was their top selling game in 2005, but it was released in January and Mario Party 7 was released only recently and already it has sold 500,000 copies. There are quite few titles in that list that I want to have, of which two are Mario. Mario is still king for a good reason, and that's the survival of Nintendo. I think that's not a bad thing, because Mario still stands for quality. Even the (IMO) brilliant Super Mario Sunshine still sells very well three years after the release. And people were disappointed by it? Whatever...

Super Mario sunshine sucked IMO; run around and wash paint off stuff and kill paint monsters in a glairingly bright world.

I don't understand the people anymore. All they want is shooting, blood and more shooting but when there is something cool like shooting with wather it is not good enough for them. I did not play mario sunshine but I have seen pieces of the game and it is another cool mario game. :welldone:

and perhaps...perhaps...diablo 3 :P ow we have to wait another 10 years.... :s
Ow by the way I am one off those guys who don't like mario, not because it has a bad story or something...but I hate to walk the complete lvl again when you die or you jump wrong :S ...really I can't stand that... Just give me a good rpg and you don't hear a word from me :P *goes back to search ToS*

Tales of Symphonia? I thought you lost your copy, Wazzupdude.
I think Super Mario Sunshine had brilliant level design and fun challenges. The watergun added a lot of fun as well and the whole watertheme was great in any case. It really had me feel like I was on vacation, a Mario-vacation. ^_^ The most brilliant levels were the abstract block-levels with hardcore jump-challenges. I hated them and loved them at the same time. Super Mario Sunshine was a brilliant platform game to me, just like Super Mario 64 was.

Yeah I know it is a great game :P but it isn't my type of game. I don't like to play a level ten times and sometimes even more... but that is just my humbly opinion :P

That's perfectly understandable, of course. I can't stand it to build an army and a base, only to find out the enemy has a much better army and base and they defeat easily. But that's my opinion.
Super Mario Sunshine=definitely not for you, with 20 to 30 tries for the hardcore floating block-levels.

hehe :P seems we totally agree on something...for once :P

You’re not constantly bloodily killing things in BG&E, Mario just sucks anything with him in it becomes contaminated with lame-ness.
Ralexand - February 14, 2006 06:19 AM (GMT)
ROFL!!! Ohhh poooor Mario....
sjaak - February 14, 2006 11:31 AM (GMT)
mario is not lame at all it is a really cool game. It was cool on the nes, the snes, the 64 and the gamecube and all the gameboys and everything else where you could play mario on.
and that reaction about the shooting and all might not be true for you but it is true that there come more and more shooting games and less platform games.
I also think that lots of people hate mario and not the game
but hey this is my opinion and everybody likes different things. I can't make people like mario but for me mario will never get dull
Ralexand - February 14, 2006 11:36 AM (GMT)
