Title: Another IRIS agent is here...
KrystalSasha - July 28, 2006 10:25 PM (GMT)
Hehehe, if only I could do what Jade does ^_^ Anyways, I've been a fan of BG&E ever since it first came out.
If you don't care about my little (a.k.a long as hell) story about my experiences with BG&E, just skip down to the last paragraph or two
I picked it up as a rental shortly after it came out, mainly because I wasn't sure if I would like it enough to spend $50 on it. How wrong I was! I managed to beat it the first time through during the five day rental period. After that I sorta went dormant in my interest in the world.
Skip ahead to earlier this year (I think around February), and I get a sudden urge to play the game. I thought to myself, "No problem, I have enough money. I'll just see what it's going for on Amazon." Hehehe, not a fun experience. I first see it was listed by Amazon for $20 and was really excited. "An excellent game for that cheap? Awesome!" I thought. Then I noticed what it said below the price: Discontinued. That was the GCN one though, so I quickly looked at the PS2 and Xbox ones to see if it was just the Cube. Sadly it wasn't :'(
I learned the game had been discontinued not too long before I had started searching for it again. All console versions were gonna be impossible to buy from a store brand new again, and since I always buy disc-based media brand new, I was facing a problem. A quick check on Amazon though showed resellers with brand new copies for $50. Since that's what I was expecting to to pay when I had gone searching, I decided to fork over the cash. Two days later and I'm stuck for about 45 minutes trying to get the main menu to load up. I was expecting this though, because I had had the same problem occur the first time I tried playing the rental one. Within a few days I had again beaten the game, and away my urges went to play it once again.
Skip ahead to today, and I finally get another urge to play the game. My little cousin's also have been asking for months for me to play it so they could watch, and today I finally was ready to grant them their wish. I made it just into the Nutripills Factory before tiredness forced me to save and wait until I got some sleep to play again. Still no sleep yet, but soon that will occur.
Anyways, I think after I look around the forums a bit more, and also create a sig and avatar, I'll be ready for bed. I'm glad I found this site today. Hopefully our dreams of a sequel and then the completion of the trilogy will be fulfilled during the lifetime of the next gen systems. As long as their is a Wii version I'll be quite delighted ^_^

Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing your story with us. I'm shocked, though not entirely surprised that they discontinued the game. It is now something like two-and-a-half years after the release, and support of sales will only contiue to get more difficult as time goes by. I'm glad you were able to get a copy although it causes you some difficulty, and that you have been able to find this place in the internet-maze. I hope you'll enjoy your stay. There are more than enough fun projects to participate in, and the community is full of nice, fun and creative people. So, have fun!

Darn tootin!
Good story. I remember my time with BG&E...
Ah, I didn't know what to expect(I bought the PS2 version) and I just put the CD in the disk tray to load it up. First the language menu came up, then the main menu. I went did something, and all of a sudden, a trailer of the game appears.
I teared when I heard the BG&E Theme song for the first time. Touched my heart it did.
I'm getting teary eyed right now thinking about it...
 ... :'(
Okay, all done. Heh heh.
Welcome aboard and come for the fun, stay for the trilogy. B)

Okay, you've got to explain the Way of Bastard to me now, because I'm utterly confused.
Oh, by the way, KrystalSasha. Beware of the forum rabbit. A nasty little bugger that will bite your legg of or any other body part if your not careful. While I'm at it, be aware of any rabbit. :bunny:  :ahh:

Simple - it's the way of being a mean, green, sarcastic and pragmatic man!
...You didn't know I'm evil, right?
Denden666Piek - July 29, 2006 12:59 PM (GMT)
Ah well, that's fine then. I'm not that good at sensing evil, although I'm evil. But I'm more of a nice bastard than a real bastard. ^_^ I'm evil in other ways.

And I'm the 14th Guardian of the Balance :D

Can't believe I'm so late for this... WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF TOMORROW!
...
... what? This isn't Futurama? Darn it.
Welcome, KrystalSasha (hope you don't mind me calling you Sasha for short), to our little place of insanity called the BG&E Revolution forums. We always love to have new members, so we would love it if you could stay active, be bold, and have a good time.
Oh, and on your spare time, promote the forum and push for the sequel. The more the merrier!
KrystalSasha - July 30, 2006 05:45 AM (GMT)
Thanks for welcoming me here everyone ^_^
I think I'll have to skip out on The Way of Bastard though. I'm to much of a goody-goody to be
that evil. Although it is always fun to play as the bad guy from time to time
You have an infestation of evil rabbits!? Quick, grab the Gatling gun! No no no, that would be too messy. Aha! Plunger guns! That's what we need. Hmm, yes. *rubs hands together in an evil plotting sort of way*
I finally grabbed all 31 tracks from the game. Dancing With Domz is awesome, and now I can enjoy the Mammago Garage theme anytime I want ^_^ Has anyone else noticed pops or slight stops in a few of the songs (mainly near the end tracks)? Sins of the Father and Redemption both do that to me :'(
Now that I've had time to look around the forums and see what your plans are (if they haven't changed that is) I know one way I can help out. One of many, but one that interests me most at the moment. Music videos. I've already made several, which are still up for download at my profile on
AnimeMusicVideos.org. The last one is far closer to my current skill level, but still quite behind. It seems with each one I make I massively improve before I start up on my next one. In fact, I have a T3 music video I'm working on, but won't upload the clip of what's finished now due to paranoia of someone taking my idea and finishing it before me. Still, let me tell you it's
far better than my Najica one.
Anyways, that's one way I can help spread the word of BG&E along with this forum. All I'm missing is the video footage, which until I get a job I have no way of purchasing the necessary hardware to capture the footage. Now I remember seeing in a post somewhere on here that there was a topic somewhere on here linking to a few hundred megs of ripped game footage. Is that topic still around? If so, I could probably make something out of that (even though it'd be great to script in-game my own fight scenes and whatnot, but beggars can't be choosers). I'll have to search around for it, unless someone has a link for it. Thanks in advance ^_^
Aha, looks like another post came in while I was typing this up. Hi Lightweight! *waves* Now all you have to do is strike a fancy pose for your welcoming speech :D Nope, not Futurama. Not even the future. Nonetheless, thanks for the welcome. Call me Sasha, Krystal, KrystalSasha, whichever one is easiest for you. I don't mind at all. I'll do my best to stay active, although if I'm able to it will be a first. I seem to have trouble sticking with forums, so if I'm able to stay past the 100 post count it'll be a victory for me. Maybe I just haven't found the right forum yet. Hopefully this one is it ^_^
[EDIT] Scratch that request for the video footage thread. I found the link under the Factory. Downloading all the footage listed there, although I've noticed that at least the IGN ones are small. They lose quality at fullscreen, but nothing so horrible you can't watch it thankfully. Ones of these days I'll have to rip footage from game start to game end (so like 14 hours of footage) at a 640 x 480 resolution and upload it to the world ^_^

Yeah they’re there for me too, don’t worry some time in the next couple of years I’ll get around to extracting all of the BG&E music.

Well if it is gonna be a couple of years, I'll make sure not to stay up waiting for you then. I'd be like a zombie after several years of not sleeping
