| Earth 2024 On the 22nd of August the Mages revealed themselves,thus creating a massive political chaos. The know politicians and dictators feared the loss of their powers,so with the help of a few renegade Mages they dumped them. The people soon looked at the Mages with fear and hatred. Wars have started to clear the world of them, forming a union between the countries. Thus the Syndicate was formed. The Mages dissappeared and the Syndicate took over world goverment. Two years after the dissappearance of the Mages, Jacob Theorus found out a way to reach lightspeed.With his invention,the conquering of the Universe began. 15 years after the Dissappearance Already 12 planets are under control and 7 more are being terraformed. The Intergalactic Syndicate rules over everything. The people live poorly but in total negligance,none of the stands up wanting more.Of course every community has its flaws... These people stand up for a better life and they become Revolutionaries or Pirates of Space. They say that even the Mages still live,seeking out those who have untapped magical powers. Sadly most of these children are taken by the Syndicate's Gatherers and turned into Seekers.Souless killing machines, they're made to dispose of those who mean threat to the Syndicate. On the 14th of October a strange object fell onto the surface of planet Zephyr. When the Zephyrians went to see what it is,they found nothing.....except a crystal. One of them touched the crystal and it exploded in a giant ring of plasma that shooked the very foundation of the planet..A few days later when the plasma smoke subsided the ERT-301 satellite made a picture of the remains. The Syndicate watched the pictures with fear because in a 300km radius of the epicentre,everything was "infested" with crystals,that seemed to get bigger by the day. Some Zephyrians even say that they saw creatures lurking amongst the crystals,sometime taking away animals or even humans. They Syndicate moved quickly and closed the area,naming it the Crystal Wastelands. In space between Centauri and Exis 2039 24th of January A small team of soldiers* are being sent to the Crystal Wastelands. Each of them has a different reason for coming.Their mission: inspect the Wastelands,examine the crystals,dispose of hostile activity. Once they're in,there's no going back.... |

Now, in 2007, a member of Mentats discovered a group of spaceships, heading towards Earth... A member of Mechanists discovered the danger of the terrific computer virus, which can destroy all the Internet and the machines... A member of Druids discovered portal in Stonehenge, leading to the world of Faerie... A member of Berserkers discovered the coming awakening of the fire, ice and storm demons... The catch is that a usual day isn't what most people would consider "normal" if they knew all that was going on. Invisible to unassisted human eyes, right alongside everything people can see and feel, is another type of existence, where things exist without a physical form. The closest thing that the average person could picture is a shadow without an object to cast it. Humans can't detect or interact with them, so day-to-day life is largely unaffected by them. Every once in a while, though, you can catch a glimpse of them. I'm sure you've all been alone, looking at something, and out of the corner of your eye you'd swear you saw something move, but when you look, nothing's there. That's about the extent of contact with them - most people will never see one of these 'shades' in their lifetime. However, they can see us. And quite a few of them are rather unhappy about their lack of a physical form. Add that to the fact that they can see us and everything we do, and many of them even become rather bitter about the fact. They'd do anything to 'break through' to our world in an attempt to exist physically. And in a couple days, they're going to get a chance. Some scientists have recently discovered what they believe is a new type of quantum subspace*, and have been unknowingly weakening the barrier between the two worlds in what they think is a harmless experiment. If they go too far, the floodgates could be opened, and - well, nobody knows what exactly will happen, since neither side has ever been able to interact with the other. You can bet, though, that all the jealous Shades aren't too concerned with people's well-being. However, some of these Shades aren't keen on what might happen, and want to prevent it. Through the weak barrier, one of them tried to give a warning to one of the lab assistants. The assistant mentioned it to his superiors, but was quickly fired when he tried to stop the experiment. Discredited and labeled as crazy, most people ignore him, but he's gathered a small group who will actually listen to him. Having had similar experiences in the past, this group** believes the assistant, and sets out to try to stop the experiment before it's too late. |
