I was suspicious that this wouldn't get off the ground, and my suspicions proved correct! 'Tis fine. I'll buy a game for myself then. :superior:

So I guess I'll continue with the design I've come up with. Which is fine, but I'm still gonna need all the help I can get. I'll keep you posted!

Here's the Deal

I could certainly keep designing the website myself and it would turn out...pretty good. But I know that on this board alone, not to mention anywhere else on the internet, there are people who are much better at graphic design than I am. So I'm opening up the design process to everyone else, and with incentive: whoever comes up with the best design - as decided by me and the rest of the community - will win a free game of their choice, provided by me.

This contest is open to ANYONE AND EVERYONE, Revolutionary or not. Hunt down anyone out there who's interested in design and free games and let them know! The more the merrier.

Submission

To enter in the contest, use an image editor to design the main page of the website based on the layout found here and submit it to contest@bgerevolution.com. You can make your design as close to mine as you want or not. In either case, the best way to win will be to nail the design in the details. You only need to design the main page, all sub pages will be derived from that one design. (P.s. Extra points if you design a drop-down menu for the top nav bar.)

On March 31st, I will pick the top 3 best designs and put them up for the community to vote on, and on April 7th I will announce the winner. NOTE: The winning design may or may not be the only design used for the final product. I might pick and choose from all designs to make the final website (with the input of the community of course). But the one with the best design overall will be the winner, and that design will certainly be featured heavily for the website.

Prize

I will contact the winner to find out what game they're interested in and send it to them free of charge. No you cannot pick Rock Band or some crazy special edition thing. Geez.

I'd love to enter this, but I just don't have the time right now. That, and I'm pretty useless at designing web pages. Still, I might have a crack if I get a few hours.

You know, I actually wondered about that too. But he, I'm just a one-eyed monster, Pey'j is an inventor pig, how could I ever question him?

Alright, so I did what I could to get the word out on this but it doesn't look like I could really stir up any interest in this outside of the forum. :\ Ah well. I think I'll scrap the whole contest and do this in small doses. What I really need help on is anything that involves solid image-editing skills, like the logo. So I'll be breaking that up.

Work is also starting to ramp up here a bit, but I can't stand it when anybody on the internet promises to finish a project then ends up going "Uh sorry, I don't have time anymore." So I will make sure this gets done! You can count on it. Just give me another few days to figure out where we're headed next with this.

Well, I happen to be taking a hiatus from my usual activities at the moment, so I do have a bit of free time. I have a couple of events coming up, but since I'm endeavouring to be more productive, I'm sure I'll be able to find time for any small jobs you need doing.

Ah, well there I could help out a bit as well, doing small image editing has kinda become my thing. Don't know if my photoshop skills match up to Phil/Duck, but I'll do my best.

@Conan: I like it! Can't say I like it more than the other though, I don't know yet. I see you took the forum lay-out as a reference. That would integrate the forum without too much trouble. I say; good job!

@Pey'j: Those rabbits are frikkin' scary. And they're real, that's the scary part...
And you could try a design website: http://www.ontwerpen-voor-geld.nl/nl-NL/mo...n/overzicht.htm (it's dutch). Basically you say what you want and for how much, and people start working. You don't even have to pick anyone at all, if you don't like the designs.

At this price I don't think you'll get much attention though. But I could make a topic for you, as well as on a dutch gaming site which focuses on gaming for a cheap price. I might get some response there.

Out of curiosity, can you clarify what exactly you wanted us to do? Did you want someone to make a whole website, make a front page, make a theme, make buttons and objects, or redesign the site you already had? Did you want coding skills or image editing skills? What format did you want everything in?

For instance, when I design a website layout, I start by drawing out all the proportions for the buttons and boxes and shit, so that it all fits together. If you're asking to just design the page, without also splicing it up into elements and fitting it into the page, wouldn't that make it a hundred times more difficult to actually format the site itself?

If you’re using an image editor it obviously has to be a non-functioning mockup page.
