Now the Revolution has a lot of ideas and sections. For the next two days we will organize the content and create a site map.

The Internet is a medium for communication. It does not function like a telephone, newspaper, TV, or brochure. It acts differently than other mediums. People interact with a website. Designing a website that functions like a book, is a waste of its capabilities. People need to interact with buttons, links, media, we are looking to create an interactive experience for the user.

Over the next two days we will begin to diagram the website and organize the website. First we will do a normal OUTLINE of the site. We’re shooting for 4-7 main topics. Less and the layout will be difficult, any more and sections will be sparse in overall content. Then we’ll move onto the site map. This will show EVERY PAGE of the site. Every sub-section, sub-sub-section, every database, and every page will be represented.

A site map is similar to a “flow chart” Basically, a site map is the view of the website from 30,000 feet. We will builf a site map. A site map is a visual legend of our organized site. It is a “map” because it will be keyed off of by everyone throughout production. To build a site map you use boxes and arrows which I will explain later. To build my site map quickly I’ll be using:

Alright, so all this is great but how do you help?

- Give creative names to each major section. (Ex. The "Fan Network" section title)
- Suggest a re-organization of a topic (Ex. If you think having a "submit" in multiple sections is redundant.)
- Expand on topics that you feel are too broad (Ex. A developer's subpage where each developer gets there own page.)
- Recomend new topics entirley.

- Suggest features. (If you think that a member's box should be on certain pages, name that you want a "member's box" and then on what pages, if not all of them.)

I really haven't got any ideas for this one, but I encourage others to give theirs if they have them! One thing though: Creative names for the major sections won't be necessary, I think. We need to keep it simple for newcomers. We don't want them to get lost. Clear names should be sufficient.

I agree with that one. Keep it simple.

Though, we have added tons of stuff already(Heh heh), it'll be easy to organize as things come through. I think today I'll buy myself a planner. Yeah...a planner...

Yes keep it simple, but mainly "Fan Network," "Fan Facts," and "Fan Corner" is the name I hate. Any suggestions?

Also, and your going to have to trust me on this one, we can only have 4-6 sub topics per main topic (That's the "A, B, C" part of the outline). Any more and the images will be tiny. So, we need at least one more category under "About Us" any ideas?

I have a LOT of BG&E trailers/Music vids n stuff on my HD. Ill see if I can get them to you somehow.

Other ideas = Characters page : Roll mouse over Black and White Photos to bring up character bio , ie, Specie, Occupation, La di dah.

Nutri-pils are Nutrition Pills, aka k-Bups.

I'll give it a try:

Fan Network: I suppose we could make this one IRIS Network or something. I really don't know what else it could be called. But it might go against my earlier suggestion of keeping it simple. I'm not sure.

Fan Facts: Could be changed into Game Facts, or maybe BG&E Trivia.

Fan Corner: Fan Projects, Community Corner/Projects, Revolution Corner/Projects, Creativity Corner, Lighthouse Art.

Hey, at least I tried.
